Emma completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) at Charles Sturt University in Albury, graduating in early 2005. She has since gained over 16 years of experience as an occupational therapist, primarily working in community occupational therapy roles. Emma has worked in both private and public settings, including community and inpatient roles within Canberra Health Service’s Rehabilitation, Aged and Community Care division.
Emma has extensive experience working with adults and older adults with a range of disabilities and health conditions, including clients with neurodegenerative conditions such as multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease. She has developed skills in ADL assessment and retraining, equipment recommendations, basic and complex home modifications, falls prevention, dementia care, and pressure care.
Emma provides occupational therapy services for our CTP, EML and icare clients in the Canberra region. She will also be supporting our medicolegal team by providing functional assessments for Canberra based clients, to help overcome current border restrictions due to COVID-19. Emma is passionate about working holistically to enable people to maximise their independence and engagement in meaningful activities.
