Our new icare Team Leader – Pippa Quinn
Pippa will be based in Nimbin (near Lismore) and will developing and growing
MRO’s presence in the NORTHERN NSW Region.
Pippa will be leading our MRO Team in catastrophic and complex case management.
“I’m so excited about the new role I have within MRO.
I qualified as an OT in 1995 back in the UK and have had a number of different jobs, all community based and all in progressive new services (developing the role of OT accident and emergency, leading a GP palliative care community service, being involved in the first pilot project regarding early discharge from hospital post orthopaedic surgery intervention and being the clinical lead for non-medical health professions in a hospice).
I have a background in clinical leadership, doing a masters in the subject in 2011, I think being an OT makes me naturally curious about people and helping people help themselves. We do this as OT’s, we do this as leaders. I also have a diploma in coaching and have studied Neuro linguistic programming to master practitioner level (did I mention I love learning!). In using all these skills in a combination of ways I love the experience of developing clients (and staff) to be able to achieve what they desire.”
In this new lead role for icare / catastrophic injury within MRO Pippa will be completing the following tasks:
Developing relationships with Northern NSW CTP, icare and area health to identify their needs.
Continuing to liaise closely with icare to assist in project development, research and best practice.
Training, supervising and mentoring of staff involved in icare, workers care and catastrophic case management.
Ensuring best practice within these services, through:
* Inservices and webinars
* Professional development plans * File reviews
Developing training packages and inservices that will be offered to our referrers and health professionals.
Working closely with the CTP and medicolegal team leader in supporting the MRO vision.
Ensuring the core values of MRO are adhered to and that all staff have them visible in everything they do.
