Moore Rehab Outcomes (MRO) was founded by Kate Moore (Occupational Therapist) and Doug Moore (Physiotherapist) in 2011, who had a vision of providing proactive rehabilitation services to regional areas of NSW. Over the past 12 years we have built a strong reputation in providing expert opinion regarding complex matters and severe injury claims, and believe we have a unique service offering to our customers.

Our Vision, Mission Statement and Core Values

  1. MRO’s vision statement is “empowering others to make a difference” as we are passionate about helping our staff, referrers, claimants and their families improve outcomes through our programs.
  2. MRO’s mission statement: “Providing proactive evidence-based rehabilitation services to maximise independence and adjustment to injury / disability”. This reflects our commitment to providing high quality programs that aim for optimum results in the rehabilitation field.
  3. Our 5 core values reflect our commitment to teamwork, integrity, excellence, proactive management and serving others – all factors which can lead to greater outcomes for not only the claimants but the way we work collaboratively with referrers to achieve results.

Our clinicians are experienced

All our clinicians have more than 10 years’ experience, with no new graduates on the team, giving our referrers confidence about our recommendations. Many of our team are approved FIM assessors, icare case managers and panel care needs assessors. This means we can help identify CTP or Workcover clients who may be eligible for icare participation, assisting with a smooth transition between schemes for catastrophic clients.

We can handle complex cases

MRO specialises in complex severe injuries (such as Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Amputees, Multi-trauma) and we are also experienced in managing complex psychological and social cases (including fatality and compensation to relative claims). Having an experienced clinician thoroughly assess these cases is crucial in ensuring appropriate treatment, rehabilitation and care is in place to achieve the best outcome. We have a Social Worker who can assist with linking clients to appropriate housing, centrelink funding and community supports, which greatly assists our rehabilitation programs.

We are innovative and responsive and committed to best practice

We have developed OT, rehab and vocational programs for on-line delivery, to help reach remote clients (reducing travel costs). This includes ‘MRO Activate’ and ‘Stepping Stones to Work’. We are open to feedback and are continually developing new strategies, resources and training to equip our teams to implement best practice programs. We pride ourselves on individualised and innovative rehabilitation strategies our clinicians implement to achieve better outcomes.

Well designed systems and procedures

We have a strong administration team and efficient internal systems and procedures, to ensure requests are processed quickly and that approvals, reports, invoicing and codes meet your individual requirements. We are known for our excellence in customer service and communication skills and have excellent account management systems in place.

Geographical coverage across NSW

Our large team of experienced clinicians are based across regional areas including Northern NSW, Newcastle, Sydney, Illawarra, Wagga Wagga and the NSW South Coast.

Our locally based clinicians enable us to reduce travel costs and ensure we have a good understanding of services and treatment providers in each region. Our rural clinicians know the different issues facing their communities in accessing healthcare and supports, which differ to city-based residents. We are able to onboard new clinicians in new geographical areas effectively, based on service demands and referral trends.

We understand the goals of insurer funded rehabilitation and your requirements

Our training and understanding of medicolegal frameworks (i.e. gratuitous care, economic loss and permanent impairment) help us to provide targeted programs to ensure the following:

  • Early interventions and support are provided to maximise recovery.
  • Barriers to recovery are quickly identified and strategies are implemented.
  • Appropriate levels of care and support are arranged and reviewed regularly.
  • Equipment, education and training is provided to maximise independence and return to preinjury domestic roles.
  • Early return to work negotiations are arranged to facilitate return to preinjury employment or to identify alternate pathways.
  • Participants can be transitioned between CTP / EML and icare schemes if required.
  • Effective communication occurs between all parties throughout our programs.
